The "Total Woman" Boutique opened its doors in 1982. Their goal is simple - help the Mastectomee get back into the mainstream of life as soon as possible. The team at The Total Woman Boutique provided critical feedback with the design of Barola's first prototypes and were our first retailer to carry Barola bras.
After a mastectomy, it's important to find those special items that make you feel good about yourself. The Total Woman Boutique prides themselves in having new, quality products as soon as they are available. It is their committement to help women choose the proper fit for their needs which requires a great deal of knowledge and experience.
"I have been a certified and registered mastectomy fitter since 1960" says Ruth Addison, owner of The Total Woman Boutique. The boutique has been accredited through American Board of Certification in Orthodics, Prosthetics, and Pedorthics. Each fitter has been certified through the American Board of Certification as well.
The Total Woman Boutique works closely with the Cancer Society of Greater Baton Rouge and surrounding areas, American Cancer Society, Breast Cancer Support Groups, and local hospitals. They are also a member of the National Organization of Women's Healthcare Network.
The Total Woman Boutique keeps a seamtress on staff to help you achieve a perfect fit. As the owner of The Total Woman boutique, Ruth says, "my staff and I care about you, the way you look, and the way you feel....offering you the best, Personal Service In A Private Atmosphere".
